Used TVNZ OnDemand via Airplay to watch Location last night. Didn't notice the phone getting super hot, but it did use about 15% of the battery. I suspect using an iPad might be better - I set an old one up as a media device so if I have to Airplay it doesn't stop me using my current one. I'll try that out next time.

I tried watching something last night using the Apple TV app for +HR=E and it kept suddenly stopping at random times. I don't believe it was stopping to buffer because each time I left it for several minutes and it never recovered, so I had to close down the content, reopen, go back to the point where it stopped, and then it would stop again after a minute or so.

Absolutely hopeless.

Yeah, I've had better luck with the TVNZ OnDemand app the last couple of times I used it. Phone didn't overheat like the first time I tried it. And while battery usage did accelerate, it wasn't as draining as I initially experienced.

3 has ads as well doesnt it?  I had the option of watching some crappy reality the other day that's on 3 - and also on Hayu which I pay for from the UK....and lasted about 30 seconds on 3 as there was a preroll ad....so didn't figure out if they put some in during the show also.
