Well... Unless I can get my new OneSmart card quickly AND that is not tagged as NZ, then I'm outta luck with Foxtel...

You need to give Sky 30 days notice, so you can cancel today and still enjoy the V8s in the weekend.

After Bathurst is the cricket. Then the Winter Olympics. Then more cricket. Then we're back to rugby again.

Best wait until next summer.

Bathurst - ? is that still going? I used to be a big fan of it in the FTA days but haven't watched it since it went to Sky.

But seriously, you have to wonder how limiting viewing to a privileged section of society impinges upon the recruitment of new fans and the long term viability of the sport. I'm sure we all would not be going to this effort to see them if we hadn't seen the V8's for free somewhere along the line and gotten hooked on them.

Thinking about it, my 3 younger brothers are petrol heads (& own V8's), but none of them have ever followed the V8's - I'm sure they've never even been exposed to the V8's because they were too young when Sky won the rights.

It's shown FTA in Australia (on Ten or an affiliate station). Last year 1.41 million people (mainland state capitals) watched it, which would put it in the top 20 shows of the year. An additional 342k viewers watched it on Fox Sports.

Supercars was noted as an onerous contract that Mediworks had to write millions off when it had the coverage.  It was supposed to be for 5 years from 2009-2014 but because Mediaworks went into restructiuring post-Ironbridge the contract was terminated early.  When it was terminated it was hoped that Sky would step in and acquire the contracts else there was going to be no NZ broadcast which would have been terrible for promoting Hamilton (and then Pukekohe).

I'm sure that if Sky hadnt bothered to pick up the rights, and provide excellent uninterrupted-by-the-6pm-news broadcasts then your younger brothers would still have never been exposed to the V8's as there wouldnt have been any to watch for anybody.

last few days they have a pop up channel showing all the old Bathurst races and top 10 shootouts . Good to see the old cars and drivers.

MotorTrend On Demand free 14 day trial, IPvanish (7 day money back guarantee - no questions asked apparently - or $10/month)

Just tested and their saved Aussie stuff is a rock solid 1080P. Not sure if their live streaming of Bathurst will be as good, but it's what I am going to use if I end up not heading somewhere with Sky...

Giving Fan Pass a go this month. Have a few mates putting in for Bathurst. So cost not really a big issue and can also watch 3 F1 races this month.

But of cause Sky like normal cant get there crap together. Qualifying is on and Sport 1, 2 and 3 work fine with Chromecast. Try loading up Sport 4 and surprise it doesn't work.

Has anyone got TenPlay going? Just tried DNS4ME and changing the time zone, but all I get is the loading screen ticker. Supposed to be live at the moment apparently.

Thanks.

TenPlay aren't offering live coverage of Bathurst ( https://tenplay.com.au/live ). The Australian Freeview FV app also are shown that Ten is not available.
