Howdy all,

With Bathurst just around the corner, what are the best streaming options available? There used to be a single race streaming option from the supercars website, but this appears to have been replaced with a season only pass to view.

Skygo is an obvious candidate for sky subscribers. I'm assuming it will be shown around the world on other channels like ESPN etc? So maybe Sling TV might be an option?

Thanks,

Scott.

The providers changed in Aus last year (or 2yrs ago) to their version of Sky. So we have lost the FTA sat feeds etc and all which use to carry more camera footage than TV and no ads etc.

On the plus side, Sky have caved to the pressure and will have a dedicated (see to believe) popup of the supercars show which includes the 2 day leadup and all other classes

So with any luck no news breaks or over-laps to kill the last 3mins off.

Even the live timing site we use to put on a 42" alongside the big tv with recovery radio scanner appears defunct :/ Use to be faster than tv at realising who was in Pit and a crash/yellow

Actually, Sky have been quite good this year with all coverage. As far as I can remember all rounds to date this year have had the supporting categories and coverage of all 3 days.

If you are a Sky subscriber and have Sky Sports, Sky are again screening the FoxSports Bathurst 24 Channel. Starts Monday 2nd October 3:30am on SS54. If this is like last year, they have replays of previous Bathurst 1000's, and some doco's.

I'd then expect Live coverage from the Mountain from Thursday (Practice sessions), Friday (Practice and Qualifying), Saturday (Top 10 Shootout) and the race on Sunday.

A few years ago I was able to pay for a GREAT quality 720P stream that lasted all day with not a single glitch from an official source (but I had to pretend I was in the US)...

I tried to use that again last year but they have decided that the only way to pay for it is to pay for the whole season so they got no money from me. I would happily pay $30-40 for the Bathurst weekend in HD.

[actually I now see the price for the year is only $40AUD... I'll happily pay that and get a VPN for a month - https://www.supercars.com/superview/ ]

Cheers - N

I thought it might be on ten play as they have the F1 and supercars show, have never had their live stream work? Anyone had any luck? I normally get fanpass for weekend but price is too high now

Tenplay appears to be strangled for some stuff

Six major events – the Clipsal 500 Adelaide, Townsville 500, Wilson Security Sandown 500, Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, the Gold Coast 600 and the Sydney 500 – live on TEN and simulcast in High Definition on FOX SPORTS

Note the mention of ad free except Bathurst...

Foxtel Now will have a dedicated popup channel from Tuesday to Sunday. VPN + Chromecast support + HD = winning. They have a 14 day free trial.

Let us know if it works. SOme of the places are pretty clever now, requiring that the CC you give actually be registered in the country where they have the rights to broadcast/make available - sometimes a VPN isn't enough.

Works well for me. I've been a paying Foxtel Now custom for a few months now (drama + sports package) after ditching Sky. Not sure about the CC requirement. I have an Australian mastercard.

Is there any word if Fan Pass will have a one off like I think they did last year for Bathurst.

Its the one thing I don't mind paying Sky for, provided its not more than $30-$40

Well, Sky literally advertised the Bathurst 1000 over Fanpass 8 minutes ago to me via email, but the catch is you have to buy the monthly $99 pass.

No idea if they will offer a single weekend pass. IF they do, it won't be announced until the day before Bathurst, to make sure as many people as possible buy the $99 pass...

Cheers - N

If channel Ten are showing it live in Aus will it not be available through Kodi using @apsattv's playlist?

I actually just heard back from them on FB and there is no pass this year. You have to pay the $99.

So guess ill just use Superview though VPN. As still less than have the $99 price for Sky.

That's exactly what I plan to do...

They seem hell bent on stopping people paying for just what they want...

Cheers - N

ps. I wouldn't put it past them to be either lying about no weekend pass, or not knowing whether there will actually be one yet... The fact is, at this stage, telling people that there won't be one is the best thing for them to do financially as some people will buy the $99 monthly pass.
