Now working via express vpn.. had to switch to tcp/open vpn, I'll keep playing with it to see what works the best.
Blues v highlanders looks brilliant.. flawless HD streaming.
GeekGuy:
I have getflix and the new updated espn app on the firetv would not work and then tried dns4me with the same result.
I emailed dns4me about the new espn+ app and they had it working within about 24 hours (and am very impressed with their service) so will stick with them for a while.
Super rugby is on it plus I can see they have now added some European rugby games as well.
Payment wise I was going to either use my CC or try and see if an Amazon gift card will cover the $US5 subscription.
@GeekGuy What version Fire TV do you have? I have a 1st gen one and only found the regular ESPN app, although ESPN+ is in its menu. More importantly, even though I linked the app to my ESPN account my subscriptions don't pull through so I cannot play anything. There is something about a payment error, however....
I do have the app working fine on my iPhone and can cast it to my 1st gen and US sourced chromecast.
I use dns4me, redirect all DNS traffic to my router and use dns4me's dnsmasq file for conditional DNS forwarding.
Cheers
I have a 1st gen Fire TV stick and box.
I got the the new ESPN app and the ESPN+ side going for the rugby via the Amazon subscription service.
Getflix did not work for me and am using dns4me now as they updated it to work.
And how did you pay for it? It didn't like my nz credit card
I havent yet, there is/was a 30 day free trial for ESPN+.
Pretty excited about this service as an expat living in Asia. All I'm after is rugby and cricket and it looks like they have the rights to SANZAAR rugby and NZ cricket. I had Sling TV a while ago and all of this was on ESPN3 so I wander if they will be showing the same content on both channels or shifting it all to ESPN+. Hoping it's the latter.
*UPDATE*
Looks like my credit card has been accepted for payment by Amazon for ESPN+.
It came to just over $NZ7 a month to watch Super Rugby.
Thats to the mods for opening this topic.
My annual sub to rugbypass expired a month ago and Im reluctant to resubscribe at the full price of $20nzd+ a month ( I got 25% off last year) its a bit steep for just rugby. At $15 a month I might have renewed, although I have noted a thread about quality of stream recently. Rugby is pretty much all I have time to stream these days so I don't really need a full sports channel although Kayo looks good value.
So i am wondering those of you who are or were subscribed to espn+ give some feed back to its good/bad points. For the price it seems too good to be true. Are most games available to watch ie All Blacks and Super 15 , I would imagine there wouldn't be any NPC, which would be a shame as I enjoy that comp more than the super comp. Cheers

I watch on a 1st gen Fire TV.
Picture quality is good 720P, streams nicely, my only bugbear is that most of the time the stream stops at half time, so one needs to keep clicking on the match icon until the 2nd half stream starts.
Overall it's really good value for money and like you the rugby is only sport I bother streaming.
I really liked it. I use a firetv as well Super cheap, and most of the time reliable. The quality dips in and out of 1080/720 and less, but very watchable.
I remember at the end of last NPC season, they did have some of the games on it. definitely the final. And they had the All Blacks end of year tour, except the game vs Ireland, as that was deemed "worthy" of being broadcast on the main ESPN channel.
I used it over summer to watch the a-league, black caps and the start of super rugby. But unfortunately they dont have NRL so ive had to sign up to sky for 6 months to watch that, definitely planning to use ESPN+ next summer though.
The link someone gave above is the best guide to see whats coming up
