Apparently ESPN has launched a new subscription service called ESPN+ (free 30 day trial then $US5 a month).

I have it set up on the Fire Tv but cannot get it to work ... has anyone tried it and got it working ?

It would be a good way of watching certain rugby games.

Is the subscription part of the Amazon channels or directly to ESPN?

I can't say I have tried, sorry, just interested to know about the subscription option.

I signed up via Amazon but am getting a "No Available Content" message on screen on the Fire TV.

I have also opened an account at www.espn.com as well and get a "ESPN+ is not available in your country due to content rights issues."

so may need a better VPN then what getflixx offer.

The espn app on the fire tv updated to the new app and stopped working for me.

Use to watch the cricket, rugby and CW games on espn 3 using getflix (dns4me not working either).

Just have to wait and see if they will be able to get around it.

How good is the quality of the cricket and rugby coverage, in terms of 1080p/720p and games available?

Quality is excellent when streaming. I would guess 720P and not 1080P

This service sounds almost to good to be true. Do you need an American CC to pay for it or can you use paypal etc?

With ESPN+ you can subscribe through your google play store account and they charge you $7.99/month.

Getflix seem to have this working, will test tonight with rugby.

I have getflix and the new updated espn app on the firetv would not work and then tried dns4me with the same result.

I emailed dns4me about the new espn+ app and they had it working within about 24 hours (and am very impressed with their service) so will stick with them for a while.

Super rugby is on it plus I can see they have now added some European rugby games as well.

Payment wise I was going to either use my CC or try and see if an Amazon gift card will cover the $US5 subscription.

I use a windows based PC hooked up to my TV.. I'm hoping the streaming will work via their website with this as there is no windows app yet.

It looks like it would work via the website, although I had trouble with Windows and getting the subscription / login page to render properly.

With the super rugby who’s doing the commentary? Is it the Sky feed and commentary team (for the NZ teams) or someone else?
