MrBBEye:

Could a Prime(NZ) subscriber can confirm if Battlestar Galactica(2004) is available on Prime Video?...thanks.

JustWatch is good for checking where things are available to stream. Has NZ specific availability info, and includes Neon, TVNZ+, ThreeNow, etc (as well as the major international streaming services and a bunch of more niche ones as well).

To be honest, I don't think I'm accessing any US material. I'm pretty sure it's just NZ content at the higher price in order to get the other Amazon "benefits".

I should have a decent look and see how hard it is to switch as per your advice.

Whenever I have looked at prime video when logged in with my US account with prime for delivery, I get stuff all things, and it says "things to watch while travelling" - not the NZ catalog at all.

I have had to log in with a different amazon email and password that I paid for the NZ version of prime video to watch things that are on the local one.

Correct. You will need a way to "appear" in the USA to access stuff in this account then.

Zigg: Just got an email, the $8 is going up to 10.99 in March

37% price increase and not enough content to stay sub'd imo, will be cancelling until new season of Reacher or The Boys is available.

A subscription streaming service needs to be convenient and provide good value for money. Price increases, intrusive ads and other annoyances will likely drive everyone back to high seas.

I find an increasing number of people do the sign up, binge, and cancel routine.  So they only have 1 or 2 services at a time.

I was also caught by the confusing sign-up for Prime.  I thought it was going to be $8 a month, but ended up paying something like $18, which is NZ$ was nearly $30 (talking a stab at the figures here from memory, don't quote me).  Their help desk didn't offer anything in regards to the cheaper option, so I cancelled.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

It's $8 NZD until next month then its $10.99 NZD

Sounds like you accidentally signed up for for Amazon Prime (https://www.amazon.com/amazonprime) the free delivery subscription (that includes prime video) rather than just Amazon Prime Video (https://www.primevideo.com/)

I have a Prime Video sub for $4.49 a month which I signed up for via Apple Subscriptions when it first launched in NZ which just keeps on renewing, so I'll be interested to see what happens when the ad supported tier comes in

I also have this.

Just got my increase to $10.99 email 😞

I also had the $4.49 plan from around 2017 up until a few days ago - I was watching Prime Video on my TV in the morning, then later in the day I went to resume watching and I couldn't watch anything without activating a free 7 day trial followed by NZ$10.99 a month.  I was still logged in as me but my subscription had vanished.

I am not sure what happened to my existing subscription in the intervening hours as I've had no emails from Amazon, so I'm wondering if anyone else on the $4.49 plan has had the same thing happen recently?
