Plex app has free TV channels.

I use Plex free TV channel  to watch Euro News and Sky News on YouTube.
But am a subscriber to Plex and also You Tube Premium. I wonder if Sky News on you tube needs a subscription.

Recent NZ Case law disagrees with you ,

Apples and oranges. These cases are about something completely different. Pre-loaded Android boxes are very old news and have not been in the picture for a long time. Those hyperlinks were usually connected to pirate sites and other sources of copyrighted illegal content or hacked subscriber services. This is simple theft.

FTA IPTV is something completely different. FTA means Free To Air and that is exactly what it is. The content linked to is linear broadcast TV ('Freeview') that is also made available on IPTV. It is already paid for through advertising or sponsorship and any one who can receive it is free to. There are many free legal IPTV playlists on the web, including some with CNN and BBC channels. Some are geo-restricted but it is not illegal to bypass that. Sky already tried to make it so and failed.

Since we weren’t told the gentleman’s political persuasion the question is answered without bias and solely to provide legal live channels. I’m sure he is of an age to know his own mind about the content he watches and which to follow. The fact that he asks for News channels rather than Reality ones suggests he is discerning.

My query was more in your statement that BBC and GB News were somehow equivalents. From what I can see the only similarities I can see is that they are both broadcast networks based in the UK.

My point is they're reflective of two fundamentally different models, hence why I suggested the comparison is better made with Fox - both are privately owned, both have a very strong political slant (irrelevant of what that is), both have a strong focus on talking heads/opinion as opposed to attempts at accurate reporting and meaningful analysis...

I find that case agrees with me. In the MyBox case that content was not legally available on MyBox. The owners were promoting bundled content the device was not licenced to distribute.

In contrast - for a service like "Samsung TV Plus" it is a very safe bet Samsung has obtained all license and permission they need to provide that service legally.
