Real choice is having SKY with terrestrial rights and Colessium with online rights and users getting the choice between a full online bells and whistles package with Colessium and thus ditch SKY if EPL is all they want or watch the only game they might want to watch on SKY + SKY's other packages.

Then blame sky for not improving isky and bidding for internet and tv rights, or blame EPL for wanting all the money they want, or wait and see what the dull delivery mechanism will be.

This is how TV should be going but sport and tv shows will always be different kettles of fish.

Only time will tell if Coliseum have overshot the mark with regards to pricing - I sadly think they have but I would much rather subscribe to one sport than pay a sub to sky.

Well...that confirms it...I'm not leaving Slingshot for Telecom.

I wouldn't call it until Telecom makes their announcement - still the possibility that Telecom will partner with Coliseum, and offer a discount link

Agreed. $25 seems very high for a one day pass, and $7-10 sounds like a good idea for a per game pass. I see two targets for the day pass. Firstly those people who occasionally watch a big game but are not much bothered with the whole season. So the people who will tune in for the odd high profile game like Man United vs Liverpool but not much else. How many of them will be willing to pay an extra $25 just to watch it I'm not sure. Perhaps groups of friends might chip in together for the odd big game they might be interested in.

Personally I think most sales of the one day pass will be for the first week or 2 then not many after that. A lot of people might be worried about their internet connection so might decide to get the day pass for the first game to try it out and make sure it works for them before subscribing for the season. I'm considering doing this as I'm unsure how my connection will handle it. I've had mixed success with streaming. Youtube and TVNZ On Demand seem ok most of the time, but Isky is basically unwatchable. Whether my connection is no good or Isky is crap I'm not sure. So people like me who are wary of their internet connection or their computer/other gear might be the main target. They may think it's worthwhile spending $25 first in order to avoid paying out $150 for something that doesn't work for them. I assume there will be no way to cancel and get a refund if your connection can't handle it.

Coliseum said they wouldn't be doing exclusive deals with telcos, so seems to be an opening shot

Quickflix also use Akamai CDN and Slingshot is the only ISP to provide unmetered access to that, their network setup along with use of deep packet inspection gives them an advantage (Global Mode also relies on it)

Well, if they can use DPI to unmeter AKAMAI, why did they not choose to use it as a competitive advantage when Sky moved from Orcon to AKAMAI CDN?

I am wondering about a funny thing here.
First, premierleaguepass.com was registered with GoDaddy on 15-January - check out their whois record. This tells me these guys knew the outcome 6 months ago. And on 4 March Rupert Murdoch's News Corp sold their stake in Sky. Does that smell funny?
January - Coliseum register their EPL domain.
March - Murdoch sells his shares in Sky.
June - Sky announces it's been outbid, "stunning" the shareholders.

This sounds like a good topic for a Tui billboard.
Murdoch - I don't do insider trading. Yeah right.

How do you suppose DPI plays a role in Global Mode, apart from perhaps prioritising traffic to their proxy servers to make it usable?
