Scrolling through all the comedy titles to watch, sorted alphabetically, doesn't go any higher than "M".

Genius.

I have a 4K TV that looks good to me with 720p and 1080p content on YouTube and Netflix. I'm using a stock Google TV Streamer 4K.

I tried watching a few shows on the TVNZ app last night. The majority looked absolutely awful in comparison. That probably ain't new. Maybe that's part of the reason I keep giving up on TVNZ and rarely go back for a retry. I'd like to think TVNZ's closer alignment with Widevine will begin to resolve the basic picture quality issues but that's probably nothing to do with it. No doubt there are numerous challenges.

One nice thing I have not seen before - one program had a short sponsorship at the start and no ads.

We usually watch the TVNZ 6pm news (masochistic I know) at around 7pm on the TVNZ+ app. It's now cutting off the on-demand "recorded" program well before the weather segment has completed. Quite annoying.

Yes, it would be less annoying if it cut off before it started!  Weatherwatch on YouTube is a blessing.

Is there an ETA on when we might be able to have the landscape app back on iPads?

Recently watched is definitely still broken. Watched an episode of a new show yesterday and couldn't remember what it was today. Was it in recently watched? Nope.

Yep, the ones you have completed months, even a year ago are there but the one you're actually currently watching (and watched last night) has to be found via the search.

Been watching the Fifa World Cup (we bought the pass) and a lovely surprise was the addition of proper live captioning - so the commentary can be accessed.

Checked with other channels e.g. One, and programmes have the captions appear there whilst live, great to see. Before, through the app, you could only access the captions if watching it afterwards. Only way to access captions on live TV was to actually watch via TV (and not the TVNZ app). This functionality seems to have been included in the TVNZ app update.

Does anyone know how the live captions (for the Fifa World Cup) are being done? I suspect it's AI because this morning post-match interviews with the German team, the captions were Deutsch :D Able (the provider of captions for TV in NZ) would not have been able to do that I don't think... Typically when Able caption any live news segments (like cutaways to reporters on scene), the captions are only summarised pieces, and never word for word.

And for the latest trick, My List is now completely empty, everything saved has gone.

Two months down the track, and this platform is still firmly in beta test mode. Do we have to wait until after the current pay sports event has finished before they care about the remainder of their viewers?

I had the same tonight. I restarted the app and it was back. (ATV)

Started watching a replay of the opening WC match on TVNZ, the stream quality was absolutely dire. Fuzzy as, must have been 360p or similar. Switched over to the netball (live) still on TVNZ and it was fine.

Which platform are you using?

The streams are adaptive so will adjust based on bandwidth - did it not improve?

Just via a web browser. It did not improve, unfortunately. Will try a replay of yesterday's NZ match at some point and see if it's any different.
