@Coobster does it require VPN or DNS unblockers to view? or NZ connection will work?

No, it doesn't need anything other than an internet connection fast enough to watch the stream. I'm only about 19-20Mb and it seemed to stream well enough.

I think it does.

We're sorry. Sling TV

is only available inside the US.

Thank you for your interest.

I presumed that kobiak's question was in relation to my post on the previous page and not about slingTV. So anyone wanting to try what I said before - my answer remains the same, a VPN etc is not needed.

Just installed ZemTV.com on kodi. Works!

But looks like they don't show rugby championship :( Can't find it on their TV guide.

Coobster:

For those of you who don't mind setting up a couple of things on your PC\Laptop to be able to watch any game in HD the following should work. I set this up last night and although haven't watched the football the sports currently being shown work great. This will be particularly good for those of us who support the smaller clubs. This is only for watching live.

Thanks for sharing this, mate!

I have tried Sling TV. Its pretty good. will sign up for that for this weekend as you get a free 7 day trial so I can watch the Manchester derby. Hopefully Bein Sports Connect is up and running. What pisses me off is they said it wouldn't be available within the next few weeks in the middle of August and its been a few weeks now.

Thanks.  That is exactly what I am planning on doing for this weekend.

Cheers

And just an update if anyone wants to try Sling TV.  I signed up for the 7 day free trial using my ANZ Visa credit card no problem. You need to use an unblocker (I have Getflix) or it won't let you in.

The main issue was that you need an app as you cannot stream direct from their website.  I side-loaded the Android app which worked fine but then remembered you cannot use Chromecast with it as will not use your default (Getflix) DNS settings but its own (I haven't bothered to try and change that in my router).  Plan B was to download the Windows 10 app and link my laptop to the TV with an HDMI cable.  Initially the App store wouldn't let me download it but then I changed the region on my laptop from NZ to USA and I could.

The stream quality itself was really good so well worth the effort (apart from the result of the match)!

Do you get access to the NBC sports app for on demand viewing and viewing games not broadcast live on tv? I read that you don't get access to this can you confirm?

I don't know for sure but I never saw an option for it.  Basically you download the Sling app and you get access to the channels for the plan you are on.  They are just streaming to their schedules.

It doesn't give you access to the NBC Sports app but you can stream NBC Sports Network in the Sling app only. Sling is pretty good, wish it had on demand and DVR functionality though.

Bein Sports connect is still not up and running. Can see them losing customers if they take much longer. If this happens, they can only blame themselves.

In the grand scheme of things for them I don't think they care that much. It is not a profitable revenue scheme for them.

It doesn't really matter about if its profitable or not. I would imagine they don't want to lose a significant amount of customers by being so slack in releasing connect. They will lose a significant a lot of people if they continue to be slack. Have studied accounting and businesses always want to maximize profit.

BeIN's communication with it's customer base is appalling. Sadly, the amount of new customers and profit they will gain from having Connect up and running in NZ really is small fry compared to their other markets.

I strongly suspect that the block is due to Sky NZ, still hoping that the football channels will attract some subscribers back to them. I find it hard to believe it could take this long to get the tech ready, especially as they have it in  other countries.

I don't think this whole business reflects at all well on either Sky or BeIN.
