I can no longer use ExpressVPN or IPVanish to watch BBC TV:

"BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only ..."

Unotelly DNS and VPN still working fine, Have a lifetime getflix account but have not tested it yet.

Same here with my ExpressVPN.

I'm reluctant to go for another subscription VPN, if the Beeb are working hard to close this option down.

With live sports (including rugby) on free to air TV again. Well I guess if we pay a fee then it isn't free to air anymore.....

I've always said I'll happily subscribe to iPlayer if it was possible, there was always supposed to be a global version but it never really took off for whatever reason.

We pretty much exclusively watch all the UK on demand offerings now through Unotelly as the local TV is awful, especially for kids

We pretty much exclusively watch all the UK on demand offerings now through Unotelly as the local TV is awful, especially for kids

I'll give it a bash.

If only I could get Match of the Day through iPlayer/Unotelly, then things would be perfect! ;-)

Dealing with rights for a global service these days seems like a worse job than herding cats. I am guessing Netflix has quite a few people dealing with that for their network, probably not something BBC wants to deal with.

As already noted you can. You can watch it live on BBC1 at around 11am to 12pm on Sunday (you need to check the schedule as it moves around a bit). If you miss it you have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday for it to pop up on demand. UK Sky TV would not let them put it on demand straight away. Match of the Day 2 I believe is the same but that is Monday our time and again is on demand several days later. I use Getflix but you shouldn't have any issues.

And since we are talking the BBC I forgot to mention if you want to watch a great satirical take on the BBC (made by themselves) then I can recommend W1A.

Its in the vain of John Clarke's The Games and Twenty Twelve which took the mickey out of the organisers of the Sydney and London Olympics respectively.

It's on Netflix USA region.

I will definitely give either Unotelly or Getflix a try.
It will be nice to see MOTD (I like Premier League Pass, but there is a definite lack of a decent highlights programme on there)!

Having enjoyed iPlayer on a Samsung smart TV for a year or so, it has stopped working recently - menus and thumbnails load OK, but when trying to play any programme, I just get an error message. Anyone else having this problem? I'm using Unotelly, set on the TV network settings
It still works OK on a tablet and WDTV Live, and I have blocked Google DNS servers at the router

No it's a reference to Sir Ryan ☺

TV one has a highlights show on a Wednesday night about midnight which is worth checking out. They also have a live game on a Sunday morning for those without Premier league pass

I have the same issue on my Amazon FireTv, my friend's Samsung TV has also stopped working. Same symptoms as yourself.
