I'm pretty sure you have the option to toggle the add-ons on and off at will, so it should be fairly easy to opt in as needed.

Will the ESPN coverage be in HD (where its available in HD understand sub-continent games are not always produced in HD?)

When I trialled it I believe it was at least 720p.

I have signed upto Sling TV and find it good, not great, and the cost is $42NZD per month for the Blue Package, I think the orange one is $5USD cheaper a month, and if you're adding Willow TV (I think $10US per month), you may will be looking around $50 a month.

Sky have new subscriber deals for $49 incl Basic, incl Sport , incl HD. 6 month contract and price holds for 12 months. There's a massive thread on GZ about it.

Looks to be a good thread here - https://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/comments/6a2ecn/sling_tv_willow_vs_willowtv_subscription/

Has anyone got it sussed for streaming the Ashes, stating today, and/or NZ v Windies, next week?

Just to play devils advocate.  With the two services you're potentially having to pay to get coverage of all the NZ games (not sure if you're interested in others, other leagues), is a 3month or 6 month fanpass subscription(can't remember what  the option it is now) still more?

I was hoping to watch it on 9Now, but it seems Nine don't have the online rights for it.

Very good question.  However, first I'm trying to find if it's actually doable for those two series before doing the cost comparison with Sky.

According to their FAQ they don't offer chromecast support 'due to broadcast rights'. That's a deal breaker for me.

That looks like an option for the Ashes - although ATV4 App would be ideally what I'm after.  Could potentially be coming, since they already have an iOS app.

Just need to find an option for the Black Caps.
