Has anyone got TenPlay going? Just tried DNS4ME and changing the time zone, but all I get is the loading screen ticker. Supposed to be live at the moment apparently.

Thanks.

TenPlay aren't offering live coverage of Bathurst ( https://tenplay.com.au/live ). The Australian Freeview FV app also are shown that Ten is not available.

Ah, fair enough. It looked like they were according to their website, but that must be broadcast coverage, not streaming.

Thanks though.

Did anyone manage to get superview working through a VPN from New Zealand?

Motortrend On Demand is working perfectly for me at the moment watching some Chinese touring car practice live. It's actually using Youtube as the streaming engine for this... I'll be very happy if they use that for Bathurst as well. The quality is great and there's been a solid 40 seconds of buffer since I started the stream 20 minutes ago...

Cheers - N

MTOD didn't use Youtube - looks like they have embedded the Superview option and geolocked their particular version of it to the US. The experience watching the shootout wasn't good. It was jerky (framerate issues) as well as buffering from time to time. It might have been the VPN, but I don't think so.

I'll try a different VPN tomorrow and always have skygo to fall back on if I have to. It does look like they have thrown slightly more bitrate at Bathurst in Skygo this year...

Cheers - N

So it is that time of the year again!

I've got Fanpass (spark deal) so fingers crossed Sky run Foxtel's Bathurst channel again on one of the main Sky Sport Channels.

I saw this posted earlier this afternoon, but in short Foxtel are going to shoot/broadcast the event this year in 4K: https://www.supercars.com/news/championship/australian-first-for-bathurst-broadcast/?sf197965982=1

Fox Sports have announced a dedicated Bathurst Channel - which is generally what Sky simulcasts - for the week. I've got Foxtel Now, so will be watching on that, although it has split screen adverts during the main race itself :(

[edit: Fox Sports will show it ad free this year https://www.foxsports.com.au/motorsport/supercars/bathurst-1000-foxtel-and-fox-sports-to-show-2018-race-in-4k-live-and-adbreak-free/news-story/12eb1887d042bf76f5584341b30e0f76?nk=7a20c536dcb2e13cc65aa83ca2ba2939-1537326545  Woohoo! ]

Bathurst in 4K... that would look epic.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Don't expect it any time soon in New Zealand. To get 4K in Australia, you need an iQ4 box (which was released this month) and a satellite (not HFC) connection, so there won't be many people watching in 4K this year in Australia either.

Yeah, I did see that. I bet they'll have a bit of a run on those new iQ boxes now that they've publicized that. tongue-out

Its on SkySports4 - Thursday till Sunday.  And there looks to be classic races in the week leading up to the race - also all on SS4.

The joy of the box - 4 weeks of listings.

Wasnt last weekends Sandown just fantastic.  Nothing like a 1-2-3 result.  And nothing beats having Ford's lapped during an Enduro.

Bring on a repeat at the Big Race.

How did it look on FanPass?  Quality wise and race result wise.

I can't stand Roland personally. Always used to be a Holden guy, but the new Opels are not Holden at all anymore, and Scotty Mac is just a plain champion, so DJR is it for me.

However I can't see Scott coming back this season. Those Red Bull cars are currently light years ahead of the competition, I think DJR started the season excellently, had Scott's car setup very well, but they are really getting all they can out of that platform.

With the ZB, there was obviously a lot of improvement and speed to be found, it took them a while but have now got those cars on song.

Bring on the Mustang and parity with the aero setups.

Yep.  But Holden need the Opels to win to have any hope of rescuing the Commodore brand in Australia.  If the Mustangs can prove competitive next year then Holden will bring down some real cars and that'll be the end of the disastrous ZB experiment.

It looked good on Fanpass (using Apple TV 4K), think they took note to them about the dropped frames seriously as it looks almost as good as the Satellite product now.
