Batman:

those on YT premium- has anyone tried sharing (family plan) with someone in a different address/different country? it says you can't but just wondering what happens

Yes, I have family sharing, 3 accounts at my place, my brother has one in wellington and my parents the other side of Auckland.

No issues.

Haven't tried overseas.

Same here.

I've got no issues with cost, audio quality, or availability of music on YT Music.

But I could write a novel about many annoying things with the PC interface and functions.  Short list:

Can't search or filter sort within your own playlists or "liked" list.  My "liked" list has probably thousands of tracks - trying to find something within means going back and searching YT music's entire catalogue. (or spending 1/2 hour scrolling the list).

Can't easily control HTPC playlists etc from phone.  There are workarounds, but generally clunky.  If you've got two devices logged in to the same a/c, surely google have the expertise to sort out that as an option.

Can't filter out "music video" non-official uploads.  There is some superb official music video content and a hell of a lot of garbage, someone shot a handycam and uploaded it - or uploaded a crappy MP3 with a video of a waterfall or an LP spinning.  If everybody "unliked" them, maybe they'd fade away, but too many are still there, and you've got to sort wheat from chaff manually.

Liked lists end up with mixed video / audio only tracks with the same name.  Both have an icon next to them.  You've got to start playing them to know if they're the audio or video versions.

Can't select text and right click to google search on Chrome/PC.  Auto playlists frequently play very good stuff from artists I've never heard of, I'd like to be able to quickly google them without using a keyboard.

Last gripe for now - which probably applies to all the music streaming apps.  They should be forced IMO to list track information that would normally have been included on album covers etc.  There's no credit given to session musicians, studios, composers etc.

The best thing about Spotify for me are the Daily Mixes and Discover Weekly. I have discovered so much 'new' stuff through these channels, its brilliant. Currently listening to my 'Daily Mix #3' (Classic Rock sorta stuff). Most of the songs are ones I like and have played before and then something a bit unexpected will pop in, its how I discovered The Tragically Hip a couple of years ago. Now they're one of my fav 'new' bands and they've been around for 25 years!

A mate actually told me his personal music collection was better than having Spotify! we debated it for 20 minutes and he wouldn't change his mind, haha.
