Yes, another thank you to Matt Huisman's excellent repository of apk's. Still no resolution to the highlights-not-playing problem with this version though unfortunately. Back to the phone and chromecast I guess, frustrating.
I've just tried to have a look at the English getting dealt to by South Africa at Lords on the app and version 1.4.2 is no compatible with the Shield. Will have to wait for an updated apk from Mr Huisman I guess.
I ended up using the Kodi add-on successfully for those who don't want to cast from their phones in the meantime.

can you not just download and install the apk?
Google play tells me that Spark sport is compatible with my Mi TV Stick but not my Mi Box S.
These two devices run virtually identical versions of android TV. I downloaded the apk and installed on my Mi Box S and it runs fine.
You need a compatible device first to extract the APK from otherwise you can't get it... sometimes the APK websites carry the right version but its often the mobile version.

Sorry, I re-read my earlier message and realized I haven't been entirely clear. I downloaded v1.4.2 on 5th August and it was working fine in the Shield up until today. When I tried to run it today I got the message that v1.4.2 was no longer compatible with the Shield. I'm using the Kodi add-on for now until someone makes a newer version available.

it's not particularly hard to find the correct version for android tv vs the phone version on apk websites. The android tv version is just a couple of MB in size vs the phone version which is about 30 MB.
Upgraded to v1.4.7 of the app last night. Might be speaking too soon, but it appears that this latest version has fixed the annoying bug whereby non-live items would freeze/buffer while running the precursor advertising and not play.
If true, a good result and will likely see me spending more time on the app (and allowing them to serve me more adverts which will now actually play).
