Slightly OT...

Trying to unsubscribe from Disney+, signed into the account that is active - which is obvious because we're able to access content via that log-in.
On the app on the AppleTV it tells me to go to the website to manage my subscription.

So I open the website (disneyplus.com) on my laptop and sign in (using the same log-in as on the app). There it tells me to go to Google Play to manage the subscription.

In Google Play (also the same account) - it tells me the subscription for Disney+ expired in November 2024. There's no active sub....

To be sure, I download the app to my phone, sign into the same account and we're able to access content - again it tells me to manage my sub through Google Play. In there it says the same - no active sub.

So how am I subscribed to Disney+, and where can I cancel it? 🤔
Or, should I see if there's a glitch and I'll continue being billed the current $16.95 pricing?

EDITED: Checked App Store on iPad (same account as the AppleTV), no subscriptions.

Mystery half solved.
Found the subscription is in my husband's Google Play account. Cancelled that.
But, the email address associated with Disney+ account is mine, and when clicking on "Manage in Google" under subscriptions on the Disney website it goes to my account not his.
In either case, successfully un-subbed. Still curious how this occurred.

Tonight we got the “verify your device” message on an Apple TV:

When you hit Continue, you’re told to verify this device and get an OTP delivered by email. Seriously, streaming providers need to understand piracy is actually still a thing and to perhaps stop making it annoying for their customers. This is simply another service I won’t be renewing.

I got a random please enter in date of birth for content then had to enter a password. They have definitely done an odd release

Rather than enter my DOB when requested, I logged out. Subscription ends next week anyway. Done with Disney+

We canned Disney+ this week, we took it for a year and only had it for Mr Inbetween.

Anything else they might offer will be watched on the high seas.....
