Mirroring ITV from my old iPad to my Apple TV at the moment as a pre-rugby test. Not HD but if the quality for the rugby remains as it is right now, it'll be very watchable. For a free broadcast, it'll be fine for the early rounds, and then Prime has live coverage of most of the playoff games. If I want HD I'll spring for Fan Pass for the later games. Happily we'll be holidaying in the GC in the school holidays and they have FOXTEL on all 7 TVs in the house we're renting :)

iii) or this service http://www.rugbyonlinestream.com/ I have never used them before.  Has anyone used this? It says it is available in all regions, so that would have to include NZ too.

I'm interested in the above service too - has anyone tried it or found any reviews of it anywhere? I'm living in the States and trying to find a high quality streaming service for the RWC - and I'm happy to pay for it.

In the US you could run with .. Universal Sports (official broadcaster) .. paid subscription USD $ 199.00 for RWC all games live and on demand .. just a bit pricey for me when converting from NZD :)

Yeah I'm aware of the Universal sports option - I just think it's highway robbery, especially after NBC broadcast all the games for free at the last RWC!

Does seem over the top in contrast to other options .. UK ITV all games free, Sky NZ Fan Pass NZD $ 20.00 per week, I had also looked into Sky UK NOW TV (I had unwatchable buffering issues when on the TV) but that was also only 10.00 pound per week and they offered a very reasonable monthly option.

Hi Guys, As the World Cup Starts tomorrow and would like to watch there is an option.

In the UK ITV will broadcast live all the matches.   United Kindom (England, Scotland, Ireland) ITV & ITV 4 will broadcast all 48 matches live in uk territories

You can download an app from Android Play store to watch the games iTV Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.filmon.android.aff152039Jy   Choose UK Live TV.

Should Add it support casting to the likes of Chromecast

Found out yesterday that while Prime will have live coverage of all of the games from the QF onwards, they'll be running adverts throughout the games so they will become more and more delayed.

Filmon has awful quality and I think this solution will disappoint.

ITV Player I believe, will be the best option as the quality is reasonably good, and it will provide live coverage on Android or PC with the added benefit of a catchup service as well. The games will also be available on demand within a couple of hours from what I have read.

My choice will be ITVPlayer on my Sammy using the on demand function (as the TV apps do not stream live).

And a heads up for owners of the latest J Series Sammies - (Tizen), the ITVPlayer was released a few days ago. Streaming quality is very good.

Thanks DaveB,
Just spotted in my travels this morning seemed okay from the Tablet hadn't tried casting to check quality, so thanks.

Today's NZ Herald says Prime TV has

Delayed coverage of All Blacks pool matches, two quarter finals and one semi final.

Live coverage of opening ceremony, first game, two quarter finals, one semifinal, bronze final and the final.

Just checked Primes Facebook page and it confirms what it says in the Herald. It will be full coverage (with adverts) of the games listed above, some delayed, some live. Not all live from QF onwards.

Yip, so the by the time the end of the game comes round on Prime, it will be some minutes behind "live".

And the delayed games - all the All Blacks pool games and including two of the quarter finals and one semifinal - broadcasted on Prime around eight hours after the final whistle.

Gonna be hard not to hear those results before watching on Prime.
