DjShadow:

It looked good on Fanpass (using Apple TV 4K), think they took note to them about the dropped frames seriously as it looks almost as good as the Satellite product now.

I wonder if the ATV is doing something clever... or is it fan pass specifically with better quality?

Comparing the HD Satellite to SkyGo there is still a huge disparity in quality. IMO it looks awful in comparison - even in comparison to  TVNZ On Demand it looks awful.

What device are you watching SkyGo on? My MBP through HDMI looks fantastic and not far off Satellite quality on my 60" TV. I'm on 100 Mb fibre if that makes a difference...

Laptop plugged into 55" TV via HDMI (1080p 60Hz). I am only on ADSL, but at another location with 50Mbit VDSL I think it looks the same. To be fair, I haven't used it much recently so maybe they have improved things. I will give it another go.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get the SkyGo player working?
I've installed Flash and enabled on the SKY player page via the secure info next to the url.
I've checked if flash in installed - http://isflashinstalled.com/
Closed Chrome down and reopened.
Tried in Firefox too.

Nothing seems to work, keep getting a compatibility error.

In chrome click the padlock, and allow flash.

I vaguely remember knowing that Fanpass had gotten rid of it's cheaper options, but I went to have a look how much it would cost to watch Bathurst this weekend.. $99 for a month.. they are taking the piss.. If it was $10 for the weekend I'd be giving them some money, but apparently they've taken to smoking crack in the office.

Fan pass do have a $15/month option if you are happy watching it on your mobile.

That’s classic sky, pricing like that and then saying we tried and the New Zealand public doesn’t want to support streaming options.

Channel TEN have it on FTA, I don't know whether their online stream will have the event blocked or not (all Aussie channels tend to block some live events from their online streams). No VPN or DNS is required to view this.

Use Iexplore.exe - its the only way I've managed to get it working.

Doesn't really help for a one-off event, but if you're a Spark customer, you can obtain Fan Pass for $30 per month - with a six month commit.

Channel Ten don't have online rights to the event (at least according to their TV guide), so it won't be available on Ten Play. I'm watching it via Foxtel Now with a VPN. You need to have an Aussie credit card to sign up to Foxtel Now.

I'm not, and I just don't watch enough sport to even vaguely justify that much. In a year I'll watch maybe half a dozen super rugby games, a few AB's games, an occasional Chelsea game, Bathurst, maybe the IoMTT and the odd bit of UFC/Boxing.
