smidon:

Thank you David for chiming in ... we all want this to work, and having the TVNZ channel was a good plan on your part.  A compounding problem is, this is the first race of the season - if ever there were one we don't want to miss, this is it.

So, today/this morning I have 2 problems.  I can't play the OD copies/editions (whatever) of FP1 and FP2.  I get ...

Problem 1 ... on (Win 10 PC, Chrome browser) I get ...

a multi-coloured vertical striped background (not a rainbow but 6 colours + white

text as follows

"WIF GRAPHICS SAFE"

a rotating F1 logo

more text "Audio +ODBU [-18BdBFS] Ch1 + Ch2 ... Dolby E Ident Ch3 + Ch4"

Problem 2

I can watch on iPad, but I can't cast (to CC Ultra) ... it just says SparkSport, stay tuned, coming shortly" (or something like that, as though I'm watching the no yet live FP3

Any ideas folks?

cheers Don

Sorry Don- I can't shed any light on why you're seeing that. I've just checked at my end and I can watch both FP1 and FP2 on my iPad. Might be worth contacting the live chat site here:

Its just a test pattern at start, go forward several minutes.

Hi David and its good to see representation at highest level, certainly on a site like this which can sometimes be the extreme ends of your user base.

With respect to the upto 4 hour VOD issue, I'm curious to know how you personally will deal with the European season and evening races with the vod the way it is?  With Sky, I would record the event and then get up earlier then normal to watch before leaving for work, and this worked fine as I could access it straight away... With the upto 4 hour VOD issue, I won't be able to potentially watch before work which means I will know all the results and issues due to work colleagues; as I've said before it negates the need to watch... Watching an F1 race when you know the result and when event happens is quite boring, especially in the current technical climate with the cars and aero performance.

So, how will you do it? Watch it live, watch it at work or wait until you come home, hoping that you haven't seen any results?

Hi. I think for me it will depend on the race. The European races I'll probably watch live, but I'm not great at getting up early in the morning for the harder time zones- VOD for those races.

I'm also no good at avoiding the results throughout the day (can't help it), but still like to watch the full race even though I may know what has happened and who won.

FP3 is looking great. Audio levels are excellent. And what seems to be the complete SKY UK F1 feed with picture in picture etc.

I'm trying a stream from a Windows PC on Chrome with output via HDMI to TV. Seems to be crisper and far less judder/frame skips compared to casting via Chromecast or AirPlay.

Ahh this is a much better feed. Background vehicle nose, commentating, and shots from pits to camera.

Nokia 7.1 plus with ss app

When fullscreen, its cutting the bottom of the video off so you can't see timings or driver names etc.

Hello all

Obviously there were issues with feed yesterday. We will be taking Sky UK feed all season and we were meant to yesterday, but were provided with world feed - a mix-up in source, which is sorted now.

As for replay of live events, we are still working on a couple things on this but our intention is to have it up as soon as possible after the race.

Cheers
