Is there a full list of the sports Spark will offer? Will they be offering PSA Squash, if so, then I see myself becoming a long term customer, if not, then I'll subscribe on a per event basis I think.

The offering in Australia looks compelling I must say. It has a huge number of sports on offer. If I could only find someone with an Aussie mobile number to activate.

Maybe. Many though will be forced to keep Sky for other sports, wife, kids, etc. At $20 its not much to just add SS (Spark Sport)

But yes, some will bail,

Say I'll be bailing, EPL, LFCTV and F1 are pretty much perfect for me, no one else in my family watches sport, do try and watch the Warriors but will just go to the pub to watch them maybe.

I doubt Sky boardroom will be panicking today more than any other day, it's not like they aren't aware of the challenges facing their business model.

Ive supported Sky for a long time. I like it, I like the other content they have, there is always something good that has been recorded. BUT, I have it for F1, MotoGP, 3 Grand Slams, AB's (these two infrequent) and maybe Warriors. F1 is the 5 hours per fortnight 10 months a year, that's my KEY sport. The value to me has just slumped a great deal. Fanpass at $30 is worth a look as long as some of my sports don't sneak into popups

The F1 Pro TV is about $12USD per month or $120 odd USD ($170NZD)+cost of VPN or Smart DNS over 10 months.

To me it looks like Spark is cheaper, more convenient.

There is a US Discount code pre season giving 50% off the Pro Pricing - full year for USD$49.99 - of course you need US access and payment method. I was just making the point that $20 month is not that cheap if you don't want the other other sports or already have WRC+.

The video bitrate of the stream has to be at the least as good as what sky is currently doing otherwise what was the point in the first place?

It’s got to be at least 5Mbit. More than thy for anything high speed like F1.

I am curious to see how fast panning feels. BEin and Colosseum's effort suffer from poor latency when panning and really affects the play where as the Sky feed of BEin is perfect in my opinion. I'm trusting Spark to have got this right but its an area of concern for me.

gigabit fibre is here, why not offer it. sure most places won't need or be able to access it. But at least present it particularly if the first month is beta...

Some people have proper kit at home, don't deprive them due to the masses

I do wonder if many of these steaming services are setup to initially grow a big customer base, and then slowly ramp up prices over time, which I guess is how NZs pay started. It used to relatively cheap and didn't really have much advertising on it. But it is understandable, as the value in a company like this is size of the customer base.

Netflix was cheap, its had a couple of HUGE increases (2 bucks...) and its still cheap. A major factor is there is little infrastructure needed. No STB, no dish, and so on.
