No mention of the other WBD channels of Bravo, HGTV, Rush and Eden. Gone by years end?

One can only hope.

If I was a betting man, I would wager that Prime/Sky Open/whatever-it's-called could be facing that fate by the end of the year. As to the other channels, I imagine Sky will assess them before deciding what to do with them.

Sophie Maloney (SKY CEO) said there would be 'no change to programming for 12-18 months' - whatever that actually means...

Maybe WBD playing the channels out from Virginia only costs NZ$0.50/year.

It's hard to imagine that they will allow the red ink to go on for that long.

The applications, first reported by the NZ Media News social media account, are “under examination” by the Intellectual Property Office but have been downplayed by Sky. “We’re not planning any change to the much-loved Three or ThreeNow brand names,” a Sky spokeswoman told Media Insider on Monday evening. “Sky Free is simply the legal business name we’ll be using once the acquisition completes, as we will no longer be able to use Discovery NZ.

“And the team will be called Sky Free within Sky, along similar lines to our other team and business unit names.” So while no marketing changes seem planned in the short-term, it will be interesting to see how Sky does handle its various pay TV, streaming and free-to-air brands in the longer term.

The Bravo name is owned by NBC Universal. Always thought it was strange WBD  running a channel with that  name.

As per companies office

But.. All of the news reports have included Bravo as part of the sale.

Sky 3 would make sense but sky=pay in most peoples minds,

I would go with "Sky 3" , and maybe rebrand Sky Open as "Sky News Open" news channel.
