Does anyone know what channel number has been assigned to that TVNZ2+1 education channel thing in the kiwitv2 list please ?

Don't bother, We are extremely unimpressed so far. Most of today has been in Te Reo Maori and unfortunately my kids are not interested. I am not going to force them to watch something they don't understand either. While working from home I am now resorting to finding them other activities instead. I was really hoping that this would have been more of a success.

Maybe we on the wrong channel, is it TVNZ+1?

Oh well. Just curiosity really, youngest is now 16, so doubt he'd watch for more than 5 minutes anyway.

I think you're on the wrong channel.
There are two channels - I haven't seen anything in Te Reo on the one my daughter's been watching
(pretty cool Myth Busters Jr show earlier)

Sounds like the resolution problem is linked to Emby, which picks up the first stream in the lsit (lowest res)

Looks like they know about it and are working on it: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/80106-how-to-make-emby-pick-highest-quality-stream/

Saw that post last week or something. Didn't think about it again 😀

Is it an OTA channel (terrestrial and/or satellite) and/or an iptv channel ?

I was seeing Mythbusters Jr earlier. Now I'm getting Maori TV. I think it is a varied programme.

@rb99: Your problem is because your link is incorrect. It is kiwitv2 in the url, not kiwitv.

16, and 12. We saw the myth busters show on TVNZ+1, that was pretty good. But its not something I would have expected to be on this learning channel either. Shows like that are covered on normal TV.

Wasn't great for my 6 year old this morning either but to tell the truth I wasn't expecting it to be good.  It is really only intended to be for those that have no access to the internet, or didn't get a physical learning pack from their school and/or their school isn't doing anything.

To supplement what the school is giving them (and they should be in contact with the students) Try giving projects based on what the student is interested in and then threading in literacy and numeracy.

If they are obsessed with rugby

  • Have them produce a powerpoint/prezi/sway on the history of rugby,
  • Locate all of the international rugby venues on a map in NZ.
  • Calculate the land value of Eden park
  • Produce a stop animation of a famous try
  • Perform an investigation on the distance a rugby ball travels and the angle the ball is placed

Little bit of off course steering from tvnz+kodi chaps..

https://www.tvnz.co.nz/shows/home-learning-tv/schedule

It's mixed programming for parent's too. Not designed as a 6hr school lesson. It's supplemental

I think there may be some confusion here. I know I am feeling it. I watched TV2+1 Home Learning earlier and it was showing Mythbusters Jr, which is a special spinoff aimed at children with Adam Savage on YouTube only. It is not normally broadcast on any TV channel as far as I know. It would be suitable content for home learning though.

I just tried temporarily installing the Apsattv URL to see where the channel number is, but it the channel order is completely scrambled because of my editing and I don't want to clear the data as it was a lot of work to get it the way I want it. For what it's worth, I am seeing TV2+1 on channel 498, but that is unlikely to be the same for anyone else.

Apologies. Do have it correct, I just typed that bit of the message in by hand, not copy and paste (and surprisingly, got it wrong...)
