Not via spark sport directly. The ads where inserted via tvnz not spark. There are ad breaks in the free practices but no ads itself but the last race was ad free as it used to be on sky

Edit: clarifiation that ITS not currently on sky but this is how it used to be

Right, trying to watch FP2 casting from my nokia 7.1 plus to one of my shields, FP1 was fine to cast but FP2 refuses to play once I've casted; the play symbol is on, so not paused, and the time counter states a time e.g. 12:04 but its not moving and no data is being streamed... Its like its paused but can't do anything else but on the phone it plays fine... Killed the app and restarted it all but the same behavour; basically I'm unable to actually get the casted FP2 to play at all... anyone else?

Is any one else having issues watching F1 free practice 1 & 2, all I get via Spark Sport web site or casting to my chromecast ultra is "stay tuned, broadcast begins shortly"

Also was there an issue about 58 minutes in where the stream lost its picture but had audio? Bluntly never had any of these issues with Sky so its very disappointing that we're suffering them during the actual F1 season...

Rest assured you’re not missing any action as when that happened, that was when Sky Sports UK went to an ad break and the F1 slate was put up.

There are more ads during the practice races, however as far as I’m aware, there are no mid-race ads during qualifying and the main race.

Yep I get that, but I get a black screen but the audio of the commentary team is still playing and they're still talking about drivers and managers as if they where live...

Do you mean the 120min at the bottom of the video? if so it justs sits at 120. When I play from beginning, I get the sky sport logo and the it switches to what looks like an official area with some media crew walking about, but there is no audio for about 3 min. and then that disappears and I get the Spark message.

Okay have possibly found my problem, If I skip forward 41min it then starts playing practice 1 (from the beginning of practice)

Right so I found my problem; the app had broken my Shield... Something the app is doing on Android can cause the built in chrome cast on my shields (both of them) to break meaning I have to reset them to make it work again; Its only this app though as I do not have trouble with other cast enabled apps.... rather frustrating!

Just set mine up for a play.

Odroid C2 linux kodi box, with spark sport add-on, works flawlessly. didnt have any issues. Its not as polished as the android phone app, as it doesnt have flashy thumbnails or descriptions, but if you know what you are looking for in terms of the sports its fine.

Casting from Android phone spark sports app to Chromecast, the controls on the spark sports app are really average, for the F1P2 its either the start of the end of the stream usign the slider, or in landscape mode there is no slider at all. i did manage to get a 1/2 screen controls up (dont know how and couldnt do it again) but that allowed me to skip fwd and back easily. would like to see it polished a little more to be a lot more user friendly.

It would be really good if SS would start their programmes at the beginning of Sky UK's programme. Both practice sessions missed most of the Sky UK intros. Not essential but often interesting. These times are planned to the second well in advance so I don't know how they can be a surprise. Pretty unprofessional. (Having said that Sky NZ did that also several times last year and they also quite often ended the programs early to play replays of other sports, so I guess we are not any worse off). I do expect better for things I will be paying for.

Just signed up, watching FP1 and FP2 on the F1 in Bahrain. initial reactions is the quality is excellent, casting also works a treat from my Huawei P9 to the Mi Box.

Really makes Sky Go look like an amateur production.

Well done Spark. Look forward to a lot more content.

Unfortunately doesn't appear they are showing the F2, GP3 or Porsche Super Cup yet. Does anyone know when they will be added?

It's a bit annoying to have exclusive rights then not show the content.
