Also do you know what the graphics chipset is on the laptop as H.264 and MPEG2 offload will really help things.

Thanks for the reply. I can't stand VLC. I have never had anything but trouble with it. According to CPUID, the graphics chipset is Intel 4 Series express chipset family. Apparently this is specifically for HP.

You couldn't use VLC anyway.
A lot of the streams require the request headers to be manipulated ie the X-Forwarded-For header. VLC can't do this. Most IPTV players can't do it either.

Best to just install Kodi on the laptop.

core 2 Duo, plus Intel 4 Series chip set. That puts the laptop in the Windows XP era. I don't think the Windows version of Kodi runs on XP any more.

It probably came from the factory with XP but it now has Win 7 Professional on it. I'm just not sure that Kodi will run smoothly on it so am trying to hedge my bets. I only want IPTV so most of Kodi is overkill.

@Rikkitic Just tried it on my C2D laptop and it ran fine. navigating the menus was a little slower than on my dedicated media players but watching tv was fine, even when windows was doing updates in the background

ABC IPTV has not been working for me for the past few evenings. Add-on works, also SBS, just not IPTV on ABC.

You will need to use the AU  iptv addon

OK, thanks. I stopped using IPTV merge because of all the errors and updates but I will give it another go.

For me IPTV merge is just a pain. I see you have ABC News working as a test. If you could also do that for ABC I would sing your praises forever.
