I use Unotelly Auckland DNS on Spark ADSL.

I've had some problems with BBC iPlayer since New Years Day, though they seem to have been resolved for the time being.

Apple TV4 was giving a 02001 error, and the Roku stick would continuously buffer. Changing the DNS on the Apple TV to Sydney got it working again.

The last two nights iPlayer has worked without issue, so for me it looks like Unotelly has fixed something.

BBC was hit by a DDOS attack around New Year, (http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-35213415), seems to be mostly fixed now

I've also switched my Unotelly server to Sydney and this seems much faster than Auckland

That explains it. Thank you for sharing.

Ah that would explain it. I watch iPlayer almost every day, and in over a year I hadn't experienced any problems until this past week.

Kiwifruta: Anyone else frequently get buffering issues with BBC iplayer?
...
Is the buffering on BBC iplayer a common experience for fellow GZers?
Inicidentally I streamed live the RWC on ITV with no problems.

I never get buffering issues with iPlayer, even when I'm streaming HD material.  Using UnoTelly, normally just the DNS redirector but sometimes also the VPN and both work equally fine.

My connection is 4G RBI wireless.

Thanks.

I'll try the same movie again later, perhaps it was too newly loaded on the BBC servers, and wasn't cached nearby yet.

Tried Billionaire Boy again on the Chromecast, streamed perfectly. Must have been the attack on the BBC servers.
