I keep watching hoping for something compelling to happen to get me involved, hasn't happened yet, probably give it one more episode and then let it go.

I've been reading a whole heap into how much this fits/doesn't fit into the existing timeline series (excluding the Kelvin timeline).

Turns out after the first couple of episodes the writers said "There's a reason it doesn't mesh with the existing timeline and the series will explain why"........

Makes me wonder whether they're going to mess up Space-Time. (That would definitely explain why in the later series it's forbidden to travel faster than Warp 10).

Personally I'm really enjoying this series, I loved the TNG and Voyager Space-time episodes. My one Peev: The Klingons are too shiny (although I suppose there's still 10 years of war between now and the original Star Trek).

CBS has renewed Star Trek: Discovery for a second season

Good news, I wish the Star Trek / Sci-Fi fan boys would give it a chance, some Star Trek is better than no Star Trek.

Agreed! I've loved every rendition of the Franchise so far. More Sci-Fi is very rarely a bad thing....

The biggest problem for me as a Star Trek fan, with this whole new series, is restraining myself from saying how much I love it and how unbelievably excellent it truly is. Oops..

Anyway how could anyone not love this.

Watched the latest episode on Netflix during the Trans-Tasman flight last night. Everything falling in places now with the Sarek explanation. Liking it more and more.

i barely made it through 5 eps.

no more.

fuller was right - it should have been an anthology show with stand alone episodes instead of yet another humdrum conspiracy filled serial.

I actually prefer conspiracy filled serials to humdrum anthology shows :)

I quite like it.

Hopefully it gets better.

OT but I'd just like to say the latest episode of The Orville is genius (the one with the social media storyline).

I'm happy enough. Lorca is looking interesting......the Admiral is out there somewhere, too....and Michael Burnham doesn't really understand yet what's really going on. I can see where the season ending cliff-hanger is going.

Differing tastes I suppose?

I'm fine with it but have some loose observations to note. It seems like everyone has a chip on their shoulder. Burnham top of the list angry at everyone which is slightly annoying. When it comes to science officers.. Spock is still tops followed by Data.. #1 in Discovery seems to miss the mark as the "geeky guy"..

The admiral character seems best kept to a hologram.

The red head chick is being made over funny.

I'm hanging in there but always a fan so will watch it all anyway.

Not sure I'd go as far as genius but certainly pretty good - very similar to the plot of one of the Black Mirror episodes but was really well done and topical.
