Apparently an Apple TV app will be coming to both Xbox and PS5. This will be good news, as I won't have to wait until next year to buy the forthcoming new Apple TV device (or the current old hardware one) to get in on some of these deals. :-)

Back to the Future III has been upgraded to Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos on the iTunes NZ store. All three movies in the series have now been upgraded. The three movie bundle is still at $14.99.

I also noticed that Jaws ($7.99) is now upgraded to Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos as well. Damn. I bought the 4K disc 'cos I thought that they weren't upgrading Jaws

So does one simply delete and re-download the movie files and get the upgraded audio?

No need to delete the file (don’t think you can anyway. But you can hide it).When you access your movie file, it will have automatically upgraded. You don’t need to do anything. Just press play 😊

Thanks. That's streaming though, right? If you download to iTunes library, I presume you'll need a new file.

Because 4K files are quite large, I think that if you download a movie, it will only be in 720p. Could be wrong though. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

Haven't tried downloading a movie myself.

Just tried downloading Alita: Battle Angel (Dolby Vision) to my computer from iTunes. I was only able to download a 1080p copy, but I had to go into preferences, and tick the "download full size HD videos" box beforehand.

Reports are coming in that the US iTunes store has many Disney movies upgraded to Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos.

Disney and Apple must have finally come to an agreement over pricing. The NZ iTunes store still has Disney titles in HD, but lets hope that we will also get the upgrades in the near future.

Great news for users like myself who don't want to subscribe to the Disney+ streaming app.

It really is happening folks. Users are reporting that most (but not all yet), Disney/Marvel/Pixar/Lucasfilm movies have gone 4K (Dolby Vision) with Atmos.

If/When it happens here in NZ, all of the titles that you have already bought, will be upgraded for free. How good is that?

And our first Disney (Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos) title available for purchase is... Mulan (2020) $39.99 ATM (Same as Disney+)

A bit expensive yet, but at least you don't have to pay for a subscription.
