Getting some frame rate drops and down sampling again during Aus game. Watched the All Blacks delayed  Thurs evening no problems... be interesting to see how the game goes tomorrow.

AUS vs URU is fine here, watching live, no issues

I'm using a pc connected to my tv with hdmi, I find it better fo set my pc to 50hz as I'm getting a stable framerate, when I had it set to 60hz, I was getting variable framerate and it was less than 40 regularly.

Thanks to the people commenting the idea to set the pc to 50hz. It works a treat for spark sports!!

Really depends on your particular panel. Many handle it well but some are real bad.

I was adding up the number of ways we can watch Spark RWC on one of our TVs. We have a 2019 LG TV (that supports the RWC app and direct AirPlay), SmartVu and iPad.

  • Simply watch via RWC app on the TV
  • SmartVu RWC app > TV
  • iPad RWC app  > SmartVu’s built-in Chromecast > TV
  • iPad RWC app > AirPlay > TV

We could also connect iPad USB-C > HDMI > TV but haven’t tried that.

Not trying to make any particular point - you could make an endless list if you kept adding device names - but I just find it interesting. All methods seem to work equally well in broad terms (haven’t watched some methods for any extended time). The TV app is the preferred and obvious approach - rock-solid, no pixelating, freezing or buffering but occasionally and briefly drops out of HD.

We also have a non-Spark option to watch via UK ITV.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Go fullscreen and you should get 1080p60.

Have tried that, tested on another PC as well. Usually get 1080p60 with out issue. Thought they may be cutting it back a bit for PC as there are so many variables to contend with compared to a device like Chromecast.

That's the reason then. The web player will grab a top rendition appropriate to the browser viewport.

Cheers - N

Major buffering on my SmartVu just before half time. Changed to Samsung tablet and chromecast which was better. Smartvu seems ok now.
