Yeah and that is perfectly fine. You wouldn't hire a car for 3 months if you were only driving for 3 days. I think Dave might have over-reacted just a little.

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time and it will be usable until the next billing cycle. If you want to renew it you just sign back in an renew it again. I am not sure if the account is ever archived or what the period for this would be.

Always trying to "sponge" a little extra and often having absolutely nothing in this world to contribute in return. In the States, they do monitor a number of things to minimise what you suggest and I hope they do it here. NZ is too small to carry those that try to cut "cost corners".

Wow. There's nothing wrong with doing this if it suits you. There are no contracts, you stop and start when you like; you've still paid for the content you have watched. Not sure how that makes someone a 'leech'.

Perhaps the poster misread the original post and thought it was an attempt to repeatedly use the Netflix free trial period so to watch on-and-off for free? Either way the post was way over the top... It seems a really pragmatic response to purchase the service to watch a particular series, especially given possible alternatives such as torrenting...

Its ok I can understand if he thought that I meant using a free trial period. I didn't even think about that when I was asking the question.

But just with what has been written it does raise an interesting point about if you have 3 providers each costing $15 a month who have different content you can only watch with them do you sign up to pay $45 a month all year round or do you sign up to all 3 but at different times of the year and just watch the 3-4 series you want to in the time signed up.

I use Netflix (and will continue with that year-round) but also have a Hulu Plus subscription. The only thing I use Hulu for is new cartoons (Family Guy, American Dad, Simpsons, South Park). These tend to be seasonal and run in tandem, when they stop for a few months I'll be cancelling my Hulu subscription until they start up again.
