You need the Android TV compatible version of the APK which will work with a remote control

Any chance of posting a link or pointing to the suitable TVNZ APKs? I'm ok with using the Kodi plugins - and the big advantage is the ad-skipping - but it's not the prettiest interface.

Thanks.

Google "matt tvnz apk" and it's the first hit.

Great device, snappy and responsive. Have renamed it to computer because there's two echos beside it

@mb2007 I think @nurcopolics was replying to my question and quoted yours by mistake.

All I get is the stuff to watch when on holiday on mine. I tried logging in with a friends prime video account and wasnt able to log into the device with that. Amazon support say it only works on the model sold in Australia/here but I dont really trust their knowledge too much on that.

Good question. I'd say yes but I haven't tested. If you see only "stuff to watch while abroad" it means your Amazon account is set to the USA region. An unblock service would work.

IF you have an account set to New Zealand then make sure to install the Alexa app and change the address on your Fire TV device to New Zealand - by default they will be set to an address in the USA.

A new Amazon Fire TV UI is coming up - first on the newly announced Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite devices and to other existing Fire TV devices early 2021.
