JarrodM: Don't know whether every week will work like this, but the United game on Sky had half an hour of content before kickoff at 1:30 and Arsenal's had an hour and is just kicking off now

I think this will be the same every week. I'll admit that a 11 hour delay is a long time to avoid a result (although I rarely watched live, more likely first thing when I get up in the morning so its really only a meaningful 6-7 hours delay), but watching the quality now, it is definitely HD and the panning and flight of the ball is smooth as silk.
I missed ManU vs Swansea on TV One, can someone confirm that was HD as well?
kindagot: Tv one might be ok quality but they have a long advert break in the middle of each half! This wouldn't happen in Rugby!
Procrastination eventually pays off.
StarBlazer:
What I've found interesting from the comments is the fluctuation of quality and the posting of one that his stream was only 240MB -JarrodM have you confirmed this? I've just checked my Internet usage and it is just short of 3GB which is significantly higher than the suggested 1.1GB from the FAQ! I watched less than 2 hours content, perhaps I should have done some maths too - may have to increase my data cap as that's 6GB a week!

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.
Benoire: Right so I've just re-run the Man Utd game on my gaming PC (Intel Core i5 etc.), stutter is still there but at 1200p full screen it looks so poor :-( SD quality with all the blockyness that occurs when running a relatively low bitrate at a high resolution. Look at the blacks in the stadiums when panning around, you'll see what I mean.
I realise what PLP is doing by unbundling content from a content grouper (Sky in this case) and I applaud them for having a go but did they have to go back in terms of technology and viewing pleasure? It's 2013 for god sake, 'HD' has been around for a very long time, general internet caps are good and the speeds are there for higher bitrates. Why are we forced to suffer low quality viewing in this day and age? It only makes sense when I read that the costs for higher bitrates where huge, it kind of said to me that Coliseum could not make the business case stack up for offering higher bitrates in this market. I fully expect them to offer higher bitrates but I do not think it will be at the current price point otherwise they would have already!
I'll stop my whining now and apologise for the stuck record, but its very frustrating that the only 'legal' way of watching LIVE EPL in New Zealand is through poor quality streams (imho) and not very lounge/TV friendly ways.
Chris
Edit: I've taken a screenshot of the fullscreened game as it was in motion at 3Mbps just to show that I'm not talking complete crap :-) link is below.
