Are the international versions still locked out of US apps or can they be used with a US account?

Wakrak:

Mighty Ape is selling the 2019 model. USD$59.99 on Amazon.

I bought this in November to replace an existing Firestick 4K but haven't unpacked it yet.

Despite the link indicating US$35.48 I paid US$25 as  Black Friday deal. Sent it to NZ via Youshop.

Not exactly sure how much it cost since I did a package consolidation but approximately NZ$28 including GST

I have only ever used the US models and have never bothered trying to load NZ apps so the US version is fine for me.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.
