i see Roku adverts here. Does that mean we can use it with quickflix?

Anyone remember the Amiga and Exec.  The author of Exec Carl Sassenrath is currently employed by Roku

You need to use a VPN to use these in New Zealand.

The VPN would be if you wished to view US content.  I was wondering if these could be used for NZ content.

Netflix is a US service, so you need a US account and a VPN (or unblock-us) to access it.  There are other channels on Roku you'll be able to access without a VPN, but they're not that great.

That's quite a jump to make, but at the same time it makes a lot of sense to be getting QuickFlix onto devices like these.
Indeed, there appear to be upcoming announcements from QuickFlix NZ about streaming coming to Sony Bravia Internet TVs, and also the PS3, and I'm led to believe Samsung Smart TVs at some point too, but I doubt QuickFlix will appear on the Roku platform until it is actually sold in NZ officially.
There wouldn't be any point in QuickFlix supporting the Roku platform when the product is not even sold here.

Do you happen to be accessing geekzone via a US VPN? If so, this may be why you are getting Roku ads.

I would personally like to see QuickFlix NZ coming on to the WDTV Live products.

This doesn't make a lot of sense?!?
A case of commas making a huge difference. :)

Ok, a quick Wiki sheds some light on the relevance.

Nope, I'm on TC so seeing these adverts on this site made me curious.  I don't really want to buy a blueray player just so that I can get quickflix on my TV.

Carl was a multimedia pioneer in the day.
