Has anyone in NZ successfully got Netflix to work on Chromecast? It seems to connect, but the indicator just spins when trying to load a program.

Netflix works fine on every other device, including Roku 3.

At least Plex is now open & works fine on Chromecast.

You need DNS intercpetion. The Chromecast is hard wired to connect to the Google DNS servers. You need a router which will intercept DNS requests and forward them to your DNS provider. There are a few guides around. Google Chromecast outside USA (sorry on a mobile at the moment)

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

yeah I got it working using a DD-WRT router to rewrite the DNS.

The picture quality is great.

As above, I understand that the only way to do it outside of the states is via dd-wrt router. I got it going no probs using this method, however for me the pic quality is better via
Apple TV.

You can make it work if your device has static routing see here

Worked for my netgear and also now Orcon supplied vdsl modem you don't need dd-wrt

Check out this solution, block Googles DNS servers and it falls back to your routers DNS settings...
