Hi

I have a Sky Now TV box (which I believe is a rebadged Roku) with a BBC iplayer app on it. I also have BBC iplayer app on my ipad.

I have Unblock-us set up on my router, since the Roku doesn't have any way to change its DNS settings.

The Now TV/roku box has a better picture for iplayer, must have better algorithms on the app.

However, in the last month, the Now TV box has been showing a geolocation error, whilst the ipad app has been fine.

How can this happen? They are both connecting to the BBC iplayer, just via different apps. How can unblock-us seem to work on one but not the other?

The Ruku probably uses a different CDN to source its content from (which explains the better picture?).

That CDN probably doesn't work with unblock.us yet. Best to log an issue with unblock.us and see what they say.

Thanks. The roku worked previously. Is it possible for CDNs to change?

Yup, any content providers could change CDN anytime they wanted.

Unblock.us would be constantly working on keeping up.
