Hi all

Am getting the following message on both Mac and AppleTV this morning when trying to view anything on HuluPlus. There's a post about it on the unblock-us website, so not just me. Interested to know if any other geo-unlock services are affected or if just unblock-us? Cheers

Clearly all of those who believed online services had no incentive to do anything about users bypassing geo-blocking may possibly be proven wrong. :-(

Just been talking to Astrill support and they say this:

"You can try with Dallas 1 server at the moment. Which won't give you that message. Till then, We already have forwarded this issue to our level 2 support (software engineers) they are looking into this already."

Might be worth a try.

[UPDATE] - All working with the Dallas 1 Astrill Server :-)

This is a little worrisome. I wonder if we will see similar from NetFlix shortly. I reckon Hulu would only be tightening down on this after upstream pressure from the companies whose media they host. So if Hulu are clamping down, its probably only a matter of time before other streaming services are forced to do so.

They can try and try but they can't win.

They can't win, but they can make it not worth the hassle.

Then we'll have to choose between torrents,Telecom's new offering or Sky. Or slamming our fingers in a door repeatedly, which is about as much fun.

Given a choice between 1) Quickflix or 2) slamming my fingers in a door with Netlifx or Hulu, I'll go with option 2.

Hulu wasn't streaming this morning on Overplay.net unblocking service, but Overplay are aware of the problem and it appears to only affect Apple TV.

"Looks like Hulu have implemented something to stop people using VPN and DNS geo-blocking. Seems people outside the US seeing an error msg."

That tweet was probably just based on this thread.
