Has anyone else had an email from Quickflix announcing that their subs have dropped to $12.99/month?

Is good news, and makes me about $3 less likely to cancel soon laughing

Maybe they're seeing all the discussion about netflix and thinking "oh we could get all these customers".  Could be a smart move on their part.

They'd still need to roll out a roku and/or apple tv or wd tv live app if they wanted me to come over though.  I'm not buying a new telly (or using a browser) just to access them.

I would say with the rumours of Netflix coming to NZ next year...unless their content deals get dramatically better, they're about to go out of business.

Sucks for them I guess...

I bet if NF did come here, and catalog would be pretty limited.  Be interesting to compare it with the others.

The price is good.
I'd happily pay that for Quickflix, BUT, it needs more content (not saying it need Netflix levels yet, but a quarter of that would be a good start). It needs Apps for things other than Samsung SmartTVs, needs to be on AppleTV, Roku, Chromecast? WDTV and other smart devices.

At the moment, I get Netflix with a geounblocker for about the same price. It works on my AppleTV. It will work on a FireTV (that is my next little black box).

EDIT: Oh, and I'm not interested in 'premium content' = I only want to pay a monthly fee for access, if I want to rent a movie, fine, but make it at least up to date with a video store/iTunes/Sky BoxOffice.

I would have to disagree. The price is NOT good, due to lack of content and lack of apps (which comes first - the chicken or the egg)? And to round it off ....... the picture quality is abysmal, hell I get better quality streaming from the UK.

I just cannot see ANY value for money at this time and suspect that Quickflix have a hard road ahead of them to even be here in 12 months time.

Hi All

Glad you're happy with the price drop - we're doing everything we can to bring you quality entertainment at a decent price.  We've got plenty more good content on the way and we're rolling out onto more and more devices: as well as all major smart TVs, iOS, Android, Xbox and PlayStation, there's more to come, and soon.

Thanks for the support!

Gotta say, Im happy to pay slightly less as it makes it a bit more worthwhile for our use at home.
Still tossing up between keeping Quickflix and getting Igloo as for all intents and purposes, they are the same price give or take a handful of silvers.

Honestly, I would rather Quickflix made a $20 or $25 a month level in addition to the new price which was all you can eat including the premium content. I would happily pay more for a service like that.
The current model makes it too expensive to access the premium content.

Hi Paul, unfortunately the way our licences work is that we can't put latest release content into the subscription catalogue.  That's actually the same everywhere in the world, so new content is PPV only.  But your $25 / month will get you our subscription service and a couple of new release movies to watch as well - available right now are big hits like Gravity, Frozen, Ender's Game and loads more.  Also, we'll go live with Her next week - brilliant film from Spike Jonze which I highly recommend if you haven't seen it.  Cheers!

Can't really say anything about Apple TV but we'd of course love to it.  Same with AirPlay.  Watch this space.

Reading between the lines, sounds like Apple TV is coming, but NDA that Apple is doing stuff with it, as has been rumoured. It has been a hobby till now......

We're running HD content across many devices already - definitely more to come, yes, and across the different products we offer too.
