We currently have a TiVo and it has Quickflix (but we hardly use it - a bit like CASPA) as we still have a large Blu-Ray and DVD collection.  The TiVo is in the bedroom as my wife watches the most TV there.  In the lounge we have our main TV and a Blu-Ray connected to our DENON stereo system, when we want to watch movies.  In addition, my PC connects to the TiVo and I can transfer TV films to it and watch them at my leisure.

With the move to streaming movies online (and less disks), I foresee the need to re-evaluate our Movie experience and still be able to watch new movies as they come out.  Our local Video-Ezy store has closed down, so renting physical movies will be a lot harder.  Hence the reason why I think renting movies via streaming will be the future.

In addition, I foresee my PC likely being my last one and will eventually get an Apple Mac Pro, but that is still a few years off.  I have an iPhone 5 and will likely get my first iPad this Christmas or early next year.  Most of my family have already moved to the Apple eco-system and are loving its interconnectivity and ease of use.  For this reason the Apple TV has entered the consideration process.

One thing I have observed is movies have a set release cycle.  At the Movies, at the Video Store or Sky Box Office, on Sky Movies, and then finally on the TV.  However, only popular movies seem to follow this pattern and less well know movies are missing completely.  Many classics are also no longer available either.  e.g. I found it very hard to find "True Romance".
