Am I missing something here. Why lock down a thread (below) that asks a simple question?

Are we not supposed to mention which cards we use to pay Netflix?

Sorry if I am missing the obvious here, and if I am ........... bugga. Is a personal reply ok to the OP

Cheers DB

Because if we make it too public then someone, someday will block it. I've sent a PM to the OP in that thread with the correct answer.

Don't you think the cat is already well and truly out of the bag already with all the slingshot shenanigans?

The "payment method" is not only used for Netflix, and is not ratted out by Slingshoit. Just keep it low profile...

I have to say I was a bit confused about the locking of the thread as well.  The payment method you suggested is pretty well known.  Has been talked about on here a number of times as well as published on Orcon's website as a way to get Netflix.  I think the cat as already bolted on this one.

Yes and no. I believe I less publicity is better, even if known.

No one gave a damn for "Global Mode" until it went mainstream. Know what I mean?

Haha, and the link you reference is edited from your post too :)

Believe our BDFL was the one to suggest it in a thread sometime last year as the way he used to pay for iTunes in the USA too (and it still works for that for me - THANKS!)

lowering the profile keeps the path, so I'm quite happy with this too :)

Not to be confusing but I just checked my Netflix account and it's paid for with a NZ Visa card and has been for the past 12 months or more.

May it's grandfathered in?

Some cards pass the address check without validating country. Others don't.

Well I am not sure what thread this refers to, but it's something I'd want to know, someone feel free to PM me. I have a payment method already, but in case it's different.

Apparently Mastercards don't do any country validating.

Not sure how true that is, but seems to be working out that way.

I was funnily enough trying to start a trial on Netflix today but it wouldn't accept any cards. If anyone wants to PM me I would be very grateful.

Thanks for the reply and yes, I have to agree. Your reference to "Global Mode" reflects my thoughts 100% - the worst thing they could have done.
