I posted this in the TiVo forum but got no answers from TiVo so I'll try to see if Quickflix has any answers

TiVo forum link

Over the past few days i have not been able to download any TV programs as a part of my  subscription.   I've always had this problem as long as I've had a TiVo.  Sometime I have to try twice to get it to work and sometime I have to reboot it.  The problem now is that it starts the download and when I check it in the recored program area after downloading they are not there.   When I try to download again it starts but when I check it there is a flashing blue icon next to the program saying it will be deleted between now and 7/2 at 10:30 PM and it's deleted when the download finishes.   The time and date is correct on the TiVo.  Rebooted the TiVo today and retried with the same issue..  Normal recorded programs are OK.   Has Quickflix  use by date arrived or is there a Software bug in the TiVo QuickFlix area ??

What kind of troubleshooting have you tried? Restarted your TiVo? Reset your TiVo? Reset account details? Is this via Ethernet or using the WiFi adapter? Could it be a network problem? Is your TiVo getting the EPG updates?

freitasm: I asked for more information from Quickflix... It would be good to know if this is just you or happening to more people.

It happened to me over the weekend, tried to download a couple of flicks for the kids to watch while we went out. They didn't come down, blue light didn't go on & they didn't turn up on the 'My Queue" list. Didn't have time to faff about, so rented them a movie from the DVD shop instead. Didn't restart the Tivo as it was recording something at the time.

Hi Mauricio,

I have done everything except factory default it.  I refuse to do that as everything else, EPG, normal program recording is working fine only Quickflix downloads have failed since February 07..  Connected via Ethernet..  Retested last nite still the same..

Fantastic news!

Apologies you didn't get my response in this thread initially, it kept timing out for some reason. As soon as we saw this thread though, we did indeed work at resolving the issue. Good news that it's working for you and please let us know if it starts giving you grief again.

Hi Quickflix

I have been having the same issues as reorted above on my Tivo with some Quickflix, downloads over last few weeks. Some subscription shows will just not download Have reported to your CS but no fix to date. Am on Vodafone Highspeed cable 50Mb downloads here in Chch, connected via hardwired ethernet to router (not WIF).

Also noted yesterday that a movie downloaded twice, I requested it again after failing to download the day before. Seems like the prev days request was stuck in your server and then the new request added it to the queue? Am trialling service and so far not too impressed via Tivo anyway!

One other thought is I assume your VOD server is in Australia, and VF links to Oz can be slow from here in my experience so maybe that is part of it?

Thoughts please...
Thanks

Its happening to me again. Quiet night, nothing on TV, decided to get around to watching Orphan Black on Quickflix on Tivo. Set it to download the hi def version, waited. No blue light, no download, nothing in the My Playlist section. Browsed back to the show, selected the hi def version to download again, nothing. Its been about a half hour now, no sign of it.
I'm going to have to cancel my Quickflix sub now, its just no good to me if it won't work on the main screen in the house.

I had the same issue Friday.  Had to download each item twice.  Lucky they weren't pay items.    The main reason I have stuck with Quickflix is to watch the back catalog of Andromeda but got an email over the weekend saying it's being remove  on the 10th to make way for more space. I've downloaded the rest of the season that I was watching so it will be interesting to see if they stay the full 30 days or get deleted on the 10th.    I'll wait and see what's new otherwize it will be goodbye..

Yeah Guys fully agree these issues are ongoing and frustrating for Tivo Quickflix users like us. I have been trying to get a fix with Nathan at Quickflix in Australia. He has been helpful and tried hard to fix it, been back to their Aust Developers re NZ catalogue, but no go. Shows will download in Australia like Redfern Now, but not here in NZ in our tests. It appeared to me that it may be a slow Trans Tasman links back to NZ (latency/routing?) and our Tivo boxes linking to their Aust based VOD servers? But probably bigger IT problem that that...??

So I wil alsol cancel out as well, shame, but lots of VOD competition now here in NZ with Netflicks, Sky Neon and Sparks Lightbox on the scene!

Cheers

I have a similar issue. Being John Malkcovic and poltergiest 2&3 and soylent green all started to download or at least try, (blue Light Flashes) then wont stay on. Bloody buggy as hell, some others i've tried, all at different times of the day, as soon as it gets to these movies in the que it halts.

Have phoned quickflix, they can see the movies try to download then halt. escalated to tivo tech support who think its the tivo or the wifi adapter, no way of testing other than to plug it in. but for all other movies it seems to work fine, ust not the ones mentioned. Any ideas?

Hi - all I can suggest is if you can bi-pass the Wifi dongle and try the ethernet port on the TIVO with hard wired cable and see if that helps.  I also suspect that the Quickflix server being located in Australia does not seem to assist matters with Tivo, what with tromboned multi-hop routing to Aust from NZ from some ISPs, and the general performance on Tasman cable?

In the end I gave up on Quickflix largely due to the unresolved Tivo issues I had and cancelled out.

Good luck with it...

I most likely cancel out from the monthly QuickFlix  subscription.  I can use the Chromecast fine but the picture quality is better (SD)  via the TiVo and  I can download to the TiVo off line and watch later bit like the Apple TV service....  The other reason I'll cancel is that there is virtually nothing in HD..
