I see there's a new update for Netflix in the Windows store. Just wondering if anyone has tried it ? Apparently they have 'added features and fixed bugs', but am a bit wary of it after the Roku / Android issues people have being having recently.

By "Android / Roku' issues and "recently" do you mean hard coding the DNSes sometime early last year?

If so, I'm not sure why you are worried, the fix is well documented.

For Windows 8.1 desktop.

Was just asking about whether anyone had updated without any issues - have seen the workarounds, would just prefer to avoid them if possible.

Don't know if its on the NZ market, PC's set to US (or maybe UK). The apps supported languages include English (Australian) though, whatever that might be.....

Sorry for this being a bit off-topic.

Is there an advantage to using an app for Netflix, instead of watching via your browser?

I'm a (happy) win7 user so I don't know about win8 apps.

I would imagine there's no advantage at all, it just never occurred to me that you could watch Netflix via the browser till after I got the Windows 8 app (don't tell anyone though....)

Looks like the xbox apps for Netflix are available to download now. On the Xbox One it appears as a featured app on the dashboard - "Coming Soon, Download Today". Its available on 360 too if you browse apps.

Console region, etc, is all New Zealand. No special DNS or anything. Looks like the apps have been turned on for NZ.
