Last night I noticed the HBO app was available on the PS4, after looking into it I found that a stand alone service is starting in April 2015 see the link http://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/hbo-targets-april-2015-standalone-streaming-service-launch/

So maybe worth having as a partner account to Netflix with the likes of Game of Thrones.

Do you run Netflix via US?

I thought the HBO thing was strictly in conjunction with a HBO US account

Yes I use the us version of Netflix, if you read the link HBO is decoupling the cable from streaming so in theory it should work like Netflix I would think, only time will tell.

Looks like the new HBO Now streaming service is exclusive to Apple TV. So guess wont be getting it on PS4 anytime soon.

As per the article:
Apple has a three-month exclusive as a digital provider of HBO Now, so it will be at least that long until someone like Google, Amazon or even HBO itself could sell access.

Three month exclusive for apple, so who cares. Will have it hopefully on my amazon fire in the next few months.

I think if you can get the HBO Now subscription through an US Itunes account and via ATV, then you essentially have a HBO Now account that could be used on PS4.

Apprently HBO get great kickbacks from US Cable Subscription providers, no surprise when you look at the cost of cable TV. This is the sole reason why HBO limits its top shows to these services. Corporations win, viewers lose. Id Happily pay $5 an episode to watch, but HBO dont want my money.

Thanks Guy,
I had not noticed the Apple deal, I guess its a way to bolster the sales of the current dated Apple TV device until the new one arrives. I can wait in 3 months we will know if the service works as well as Netflix I guess.
