Has anyone managed to stream content from the US Version of Xbox Video using their Xbox One in NZ? I am having trouble getting this working and need some advice. I am on Orcon (global mode) and have tried using Unotelly but nothing seems to work. I keep getting the message: "to make purchases you need to be in the region for your xbox profile"
I have my xbox set to US and my xbox account region is also set to US. (US Netflix works fine on my current settings). Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

p.s. I can stream a series I've bought previously without issue.  this must be something around the purchasing instead.  I get the same issue if trying to buy from the xbox video app in windows 10

I send money to myself from NZ paypal to a US paypal. I cant use my NZ card on US paypal but I can use money sent from my NZ one using that same card. Go figure. I guess because they take a cut sending the money they are happy to let microsoft think it is US money.

OK - after a couple of hours of messing around last night I finally got this working.
Two issues - Location and Payment
Location: Globalmode by Orcon does not work for Xbox Video. Unotelly does work - change dns settings in Xbox settings, then make sure you go into Dynamo settings on your Unotelly dashboard and set Xbox Video to United States.
Payment: Xbox video would not accept any of my NZ credit cards even with billing addresses changed to US Addresses. I purchased a gift card from Card Maximus (US$50 was the best value with a 4% commission charge by the vendor). The code was delivered via email a short time later. This was uploaded to my Xbox account and was available to be used as currency for any Xbox video (or game or music) purchase.
(Note: for this to work you must have your Xbox console region and your Gamertag account region set to US)
I did not test Paypal but this may also work as a previous poster mentioned.

So now I am a happy camper - except for having to pay for a Unotelly subscription (it would be nice if Orcon fixed this) and a 4% commission to my voucher dealer.

As an added bonus Vudu also works on the Xbox One using Unotelly (also does not work with Globalmode).

unotelly is a much better solution than globalmode.  it also lets you change your regions on the fly (dynamo) which unlocks a bunch of other content on services like Netflix. they are also very responsive and have a lot of channels covered.  you can also configure per-device with unotelly.  i'd recommended using them and skipping the globalmode.

I use Getflix with Xbox video. I remember when Xbox Video US just worked without any DNS/VPN setup until last year in NZ. Then Xbox payments/Video just went full region lock.

Do whatever you want to do man.
