Hi

Been Netflix USA user for last 6 months through Slingshot Global Mode. Tonight when I started up Netflix its only giving me a view of its newly launched NZ Catalogue of TV programs and movies. I had not signed up for Netflix NZ but somehow my membership seems to have been transfered and now I can only view the NZ service. My Hulu plus service still works through Slingshot Global Mode Conclusion. Netflix USA  has broken Slingshot global mode and is redirecting

anyone else having same problem ?

That is because Slingshot and Orcon now have a region switch for Netflix. Log into your account and change to USA.

I don't know if they have plans to notify users but this new feature was introduced a couple of weeks ago - I've posted about it in the Orcon and Slingshot subforums at the time.

Try ENABLE to use USA and DISABLE to use NZ?

Checked for the switch functionality on My Orcon, but it just shows enable/disable. However a line underneath (in red) says:

This functionality is not currently working, please call 0800 13 14 15 to disable Global Mode manually

Orcon tells me this functionality is coming but not available yet.

If you want to access NZ Netflix, disable Global Mode. If you want to access US Netflix then enable Global Mode.

The reason for this has been explained. For others reading - the content you are served has nothing to do with your Netflix account. Membership of Netflix does not get switched from one country to another. You can join Netflix through any country and pay in any currency they take but what you are served depends on geographic location. Or rather, what Netflix thinks is your geographic location 😉

This may change in the future (Netflix periodically makes noises about blocking VPN's) but, for now, the only thing influencing the content you get served is your IP address.

As above. Something changed in your network configuration and you're accessing the local content. If you want the US content just make sure the Global Mode is active.

I'm still having this problem. I'm with Orcon. Prior to Netflix NZ being introduced, I was getting Netflix USA on global mode without any issues. But now ever since Netflix NZ has been introduced, I can only get Netflix NZ.

I have checked with Orcon that my global mode is activated—it is. Am a bit perplexed ...
