My TV is connected to a Linksys modem operating in bridge mode back to the Voda-supplied Huawei modem. I would like to monitor how much data the TV uses for Netflix etc. I have a laptop (Win7) and an Android tablet connecting to the Linksys as well. I dont have regular access back to the Huawei and only want to monitor my usage, others are using the internet via the Huawei as well.
Thanks

Have you considered just getting an unlimited plan so you don't have to worry about it?

Fyi - netflix uses between 1 and 3 GB per hour depending on how fast your broadband is.

Yes, looking into Unlimited but I am not the "owner" of the plan and I want to see what my usage will be first.

While only an answer for netflix,

https://help.netflix.com/en/node/87

Adjusting the data usage settings for your account is the easiest way to reduce the amount of bandwidth used while watching Netflix. There are 4 data usage settings to choose from, each estimate below is per stream:

  • Low (0.3 GB per hour)
  • Medium (SD: 0.7 GB per hour)
  • High (best video quality, up to 3 GB per hour for HD, 7 GB per hour for Ultra HD)
  • Auto (adjusts automatically to deliver the highest possible quality, based on your current internet connection speed)

Sounds like a job for Gargoyle (https://www.gargoyle-router.com/), it can monitor usage by device (as well as impose limits if required).

Cheers
