So given that the NZ account is currently a bit cheaper than the US account thanks to the exchange rate, and because there's no real need to do so anymore, does anyone know if it's possible to change a US Netflix account to an NZ one?

Makoura: Hi all I have just done this. Well about to tomorrow. I contacted Netflix support and they said just cancel account and on the day it expires just log in and renew (making sure your DNS has you in NZ) and it just switches you over. All very easy apparently.
surfisup1000: if u change to a NZ account, can you still use the VPN (unotelly) to access the US content?

And this will allow you to retain all your previous account's settings, including watched programmes and the 'to watch' list?

I'd be pleasantly surprised if it did as when you change countries all the watched programmes and "to watch" list are hidden until you "return" to your "home" country.
Only one way to find out with any certainty...

Funny I haven't found this at all except for programmes that aren't available in one of the locations.

Perhaps I'd only watched programmes that were not available outside US. Strangely enough when I wanted to watch Fargo I had to go somewhere strange like the Netherlands as it wasn't available in US Netflix.
