I'm planning to cancel Sky soon and I'm looking into a Chromecast with a Netflix and HBO Now subscription along with a DNS service. I'm quite a noob on this kind of think and just wanted some advice on which DNS service would work the best and how it would work with my router (ASUS RT-N56U) because I've heard some things about router incompatibility with the Chromecast. Thanks

There are plenty of options but if you try UNOTelly you can get %25 off by using the promo code GeekZone.

There are instructions on how to setup routers for using the ChromeCast on their site here

I
have a second router setup that blocks google DNS on a TPlink router for all my out of NZ stuff, but they have instructions for different router makes and models and firmware's.

Dns4me.net also works well for me and very good pricing.

I use dns4me.net and they're excellent. I believe if you use the code "geekzone" at the checkout you get a discount too.

I use Chromecasts for almost all my streaming. You need to either block or redirect Google DNS + OpenDNS via your routers firewall (instructions here: http://help.unotelly.com/support/solutions/articles/165803-) for this to work. If you block Google DNS entirely you'll find that streaming does take quite a while to kick in but if you redirect it then streaming is almost instant (in my case anyway).
