Can anyone who has a Samsung Smart TV and uses an unblocker like Unotelly or similar to allow UK apps please test whether you can get anything to play as I've just downloaded the new app on my J series Tizen OS Sammy and get all the menus up but every time I try to watch anything I get an error ' the program you are trying to watch isn't currently available please try again later' and an error code SAMHD5-530.

The app was withdrawn a while back for development for the newer models but it's never really worked properly but I had high hopes for the new version. I'm wondering if its an Unotelly issue or a more general one.

I downloaded the app this morning and can confirm the exact same problem. Like you, I am also using Unotelly.

On another note, I see the ITV and All4 apps were updated on the 23 November and it would appear that the quality is somewhat improved.

I wonder if it's Unotelly or the app itself, might log a call with them as some of the content is worth watching

I don't think it's a problem with Unotelly. I subscribe to Unotelly and  also have this problem on my Samsung Smart tv with demand 5.
I am able to access demand 5 using my Amazon fire tv stick however. I think it must be a problem with the app/Samsung?
if anyone has a solution please let me know
cheers.

Oddly enough I watched a program on demand 5 on my amazon fire TV yesterday. Had to forceably kill the process the first time as it hung. Once I restarted it, it worked OK.

Fired up my 3 to Samsung smart TV this morning (I have it set to the UK) and wondered where the demand 5 app had gone. Seems to have been removed.

The demand 5 app has always been flakier than 4od,ITV or BBC iPlayer.

I use dns4me.

The app was withdrawn while they updated it but it's back on the list now. Would be great if you could try it using an alternative service as Unotelly support said they thought it was an issue with the app itself.

Only issue is what generation TVs you've got as they've stopped supporting the app for the 2011 models

We could never really get it to with properly prior to the upgrad but it would be great to get it working as they have some decent content

TV is a samsung ua32 something or other. Could be 2011 model - can't recall.
Still no 5 demand app - it has definitely vanished relatively recently.

I used to be with unotelly until the start of this year when I switched to dns4me - changed purely because dns4me was quite a bit cheaper. Both products have excellent support and work well.

Suspect it won't matter who your unblocker is. As I understand it, a lot of the problems come down to your ISP for streaming anyway. The unblocker just fools the remote servers into thinking you are 'local', from then on its up to how your ISP network gets traffic around as to how well something will stream or not.

As I mentioned before channel 5 works on the amazon fire TV, but has its moments.
I have ordered a couple of cheap Android media players so that I can get away from the whole smart TV thing. At least Android is more open. If your TV manufacturer or the broadcaster drops your TV then you can't do anything about it. At least there is fairly likely to be a current Android app.

Yes I also suspect it won't matter what DNS service you use. We always had a few problems using the app on our Samsung tv before the upgrade also, some sound issues and streams kicking us off(f series,2013)
So far no probs with the fire stick, although I haven't used it extensively.just for the little ones fav kids shows and a few others.
Hopefully a fix becomes available as I can't seem to use itv hub on the fire stick so I need to switch between both devices.
