Australian ABC channel is now live streaming..

It doesn't work for me via Hola but should work via DNS and VPN options

Can view it here, but it plays for a while and then suddenly repeats the last 5 seconds and continues normally again.  Not too useful.

Works for me using VPN servers in Sydney or Melbourne.
But lo-res image.
Streams at less than 2Mbps.
Some stuttering at the start.

I could never get any Australian geo-blocked site to work with Hola. I think it has to do with the cost of Australian servers. Any paid DNS proxy seems to work, as well as StremrTV, which is free at present.

I have it working fine using livestreamer, no vpn or dns service
846KBIT HDS stream 640x386 resolution 25fps shame about the low bitrate compared to channel 7's streams.

There is also a HLS stream , but not got it worked out as yet, it may have a better bitrate

I did read that the cost of the iView platform is costing ABC heaps that it's struggling to get in costs for the programming itself

For the first time this is working for me. Up to now I have just had errors. Tonight it is as intended, low quality but watchable.

Can you tell us the full command to use to see it with Livestreamer.

Your commands for watching Channel 7 (on the "Australia tv goes online LIVE streaming" thread) work perfectly!

Cheers

I've not posted it as there are issues

A working link looks like this
livestreamer --http-header "X-Forwarded-For=101.175.18.124" "hds://http://abctvlivehds-lh.akamaihd.net/z/abc1_1@360322/manifest.f4m?hdcore=true&hdnea=st=1449056239~exp=1449066238~acl=/*~hmac=45e04a577507b920cf87691db3d4ee10137eab8046935882f354ea017ac464f5&hdcore=2.11.3&g=KBESTPHJNMFT pvswf=http://iview.abc.net.au/assets/swf/cineramaWrapper_Acc_018.swf?version=0.2" best

However, if you stop it then try and play it again sometime later, it won't work

but you can go here

get new token from http://iview.abc.net.au/auth/flash?1449126899716 under "tokenhd" replace that in the URL after hdnea=

and it will work again,, maybe someone can come up with a line for the bat file to fetch the token from that page, then insert it into the command?

I did get the HLS stream to work however it is no better quality wise and same issue with it expiring.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

Worked perfectly after inserting the new token. Please let us know any other links - this is a great way to watch overseas TV

Better still... how do you get these links and tokens etc - is it easy?

Again - Thank you.

We just need someone clever to automate the procedure, grab the token from the page and insert it to the livestreamer command
Some are protected, geo blocked etc. The Aussie channel 9 will be streaming from next year, so there is more to come.
