BBC iPlayer adds some festive sparkle with its launch on the all-new Apple TV, update to mobile apps and exclusive programming.

Christmas has come early for BBC iPlayer fans, with the launch on new Apple TV from today (14/12/2015) , just in time for the BBC’s bumper line-up of Christmas programming.

I have and it is excellent.  Only BBC1 and BBC2 offer "Live" programming, however everything that I've wanted to watch I've found very easily.  Looking forward to the Christmas programming, esp. Doctor Who.

Same here. It's excellent. Waited a long time for iPlayer on ATV and it doesn't disappoint.

Are you sure the others weren't just off the air at the time you tried it? I know BBC News live streams OK through it.

Only glaring thing missing is the ability to add things to your favourites as you can on other platforms. Hopefully an update will sort that out.

Great news! This is exactly what I had hoped for the ATV4 - that more and more of my regular streaming sites would launch apps. If the selection eventually matches what is available on iPad then I won't need any other streaming devices.
